Lisa Lander
RN, BSN, CCRN
RN Consultant
Lisa has over 20 years of experience in the Healthcare Industry, including 16 years of critical care nursing and five years with an academic institution. In addition to consulting for Hanserd Health Solutions, Lisa is an Assistant Nurse Manager in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit at the University of California, San Diego. She has also served in the following roles:
- ICU Nurse
- Charge Nurse
- Code Nurse
- Resource Nurse
- Preceptor
Lisa has received multiple Nurse of the Year nominations and awards. She models nursing at its best, offering a big heart, big ideas and turning them into action as she routinely problem solves and touches people’s lives in profound ways. She is known for her compassionate bedside manner, her ability to connect deeply with a stranger, and unique way of caring for her team. After observing that thirst was a significant source of discomfort for many of her patients, including those who couldn’t voice the concerns, she was inspired to seek out and implement an evidence-based thirst protocol.
In addition to promoting excellence in patient care, Lisa is sensitive to the additional strain put on her colleagues due to the pandemic. As a result, she always finds ways to improve engagement and team morale while fostering an environment where care providers feel cared for. Lisa holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Ohio University, Athens, OH.
